Gilman Partners Acquires Leadership Development Program

February 11, 2020 – Gilman Partners has purchased the Senior Leadership Development Program from talent consulting firm NVR, a leadership development program strategically designed to prepare high-potential leaders for executive management.

The search firm will rebrand the leadership development program GP Elevate and will assume full responsibility for the program when the next cohort begins in April. Cohorts meet one full day a month for six months and will be limited to 12 participants to maximize the effectiveness of team-based activities and breakout discussions. Program facilitators are subject matter experts who share their expertise and best practices.

“Among the many factors that drew us to the NVR program is that it imbeds concrete skills like talent attraction/development, strategic planning, and financial competence into the curriculum,” said Tom Gilman, managing partner and CEO of Gilman Partners. “Combined with broader skills like EQ and executive communication, we’re confident the program provides leaders with the critical skills they need as they ascend into executive management. GP Elevate fits directly with our mission of working to strengthen leadership team and improve the talent in our communities and we’re excited for the opportunity to have an even greater impact on local leaders and organizations in the coming years.”

“We are genuinely pleased that Gilman Partners has made a decision to purchase the Senior Leadership Development Program, which has been the cornerstone of our practice at NVR during recent years,” said NVR founders Fran Nunan and Jeff Rowe in a statement. “Gilman Partners is well known within the region for their extensive and highly effective work to strengthen and develop professional leadership teams, and we view their taking over stewardship of this program as a great opportunity for them to expand upon those efforts. We look forward to working with the entire team at Gilman Partners to ensure a smooth transition with the program and are excited about their commitment to enhance and grow its impact on our thriving, regional business communities.”

Stick Rate

Gilman Partners serves clients throughout the Midwest from its Cincinnati headquarters and its office in Chicago. Many of its clients are family owned or privately held. Of the senior leaders placed by Gilman Partners, 96 percent are still with the same organization three years later, according to the latest statistics provided by the firm.

“Our clients already trust us to find and place top leaders who can have an immediate and lasting impact on their organizations,” said Mr. Gilman. “Since we have a deep understanding of their organizational culture and the types of leaders who will drive their success, the addition of the talent advisory practice is a natural extension of the leadership continuum. Hiring great leaders is a key first step, but helping them develop to their fullest potential is an investment that always pays dividends.”

New Leadership

Gilman Partners recently welcomed a new partner to its leadership team. Angel Beets joined the firm in 2018 as director of marketing and education after working with the organization for nearly three years as a marketing contractor. As a partner she will continue to oversee all marketing and education initiatives for the firm and will assume a new role as program director of GP Elevate, a leadership development program uniquely designed to prepare high-potential leaders for executive management.

Passionate about education and lifelong learning, Ms. Beets served as professor of communication and program chair at Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana for a decade and has taught a wide range of communication courses at Indiana University East, Northern Kentucky University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Sinclair Community College. She has led CliftonStrengths (formerly StrengthsFinder) training sessions for faculty, staff and students as well as for local businesses and leaders.
